These past few days have been absolutely filled with filming, filming, and time spent to relieve the stress of filming. My group and I usually end up filming from around noon until five, straight through with only one short little food break. Yesterday's break was a little bit longer than usual because we had just come back from filming outside. We were dead frozen and had to make some hot chocolate. We then made a pizza while Erica went out to get some cappuccino. It ended up being an hour break, but we needed it.
After filming is done, it's usually just Byron and I left to clean up all the equipment. Sunday, Kyle and Chris stayed to help, and then they played video games with Byron for an hour or two while I just rested on the bed. When Kyle had to leave, the rest of us decided to go over to Chris's house and watch the second Blue Collar TV Comedy Tour. I ended up getting home around midnight, but it was worth the little sleep I got that night.
Last night, Byron and I were the only ones left, and after cleaning up, adding problems and resolutions to our log, helping his dad with a music project of his, and taking a microphone over to another group, we watched the Bourne Identity with few interruptions from his family. After it finished, we ended up talking for a long time, and I'm really glad we did. It cleared up a lot of things for me, and it was good for him to just open up.
And now comes a day of little filming, but lots of capturing and editing. I'm happy for a break from filming, but capturing has to be the most boring thing in the world. It's just transferring clips of film from the camera to the computer. Because it takes so long to first find the clip you want to capture and then capture it, you end up making a batch list of all the clips you need from a tape and then capturing it all, which means you just sit there for perhaps half an hour, just waiting and doing nothing. But it must be done.
And then comes the editing - the actual writing of the film. Ahh, I love editing.
