12.09.2004 | Movies & Musicals
Parent/Teacher conferences were today at 1:00, so school ended at 12:45 - a wonderful way to end a Thursday. Especially since Byron and I decided to finally do something together. We spent the afternoon munching on Wendy's and watching The Italian Job - a great movie if you haven't seen it. I also got that excellent massage I've been needing.

At about 3:45 we finally made it back over to school for the musical auditions, but we came late and missed half of the dance, which did me no good. We ended up arriving late because my stupid printer wouldn't print the music sheets I had scanned. Quite annoying, that. I pretty much blew my audition - singing was alright, but it didn't have that memorable "Wow!" to it, and I totally messed up the dance. I just couldn't get the footwork right. And get this: as soon as I got home, I tried it out again, and, voila, it was almost perfect.

I'm expecting to be a member of the chorus, but I've been told that there are around 40 parts with lines in this musical (We're doing Ragtime, by the way, and it's caused quite a lot of drama in our drama department), so I might still get a part, even if it's small. Honestly, I don't mind being the chorus. It's only my junior year - I can still try for a part as a senior - and I don't even know the story.

Either way, I'll find out for sure by next week, and if I'm being called back in for a part, I'll know tomorrow. They're not calling back all the parts, though... So, yes, a stressful weekend ahead for me, since I'm the type to worry constantly about something like this until I know for sure. Stupid me. Hopefully my haircut on Saturday (and maybe shopping?) will keep those thoughts away.

Don't worry Byron - I won't forget that now I owe you three. I was actually hoping to settle that debt tonight, but I guess it'll have to wait.
